Garet Day, ACHS, is semi-finalist in Ayn Rand essay contest

Student in Christy Dover's Adair County High School English class is one of only two Kentucky students to make the cut out of thousands of entries. Day is the first of Ms. Dover's students to receive such a high honor from the Ayn Rand Group.

For the last three years Christy Dover, English Teacher at Adair County High School, has had her 10th grade students read the book Anthem and then participate in the Ayn Rand essay contest. This contest has entries not only from all over the United States but all over the World. This year one of Ms. Dover's students was selected as a semi-finalist.



Ms. Dover is so excited to announce Garet Day, son of Gary Day and Twyla Holt, was selected from thousands of entries to become a semi-finalist and is the first of her students to received such a high honor from The Ayn Rand group.

He was only one of two Kentucky students who were acknowledged in the 2014 Anthem Essay Contest. Congratulations Garet! The Adair County Schools is honored to call you one of theirs - SHAMARIE.
