LWC's Y. Ramirez earns 2nd-straight Player of the Week honor

Ramirez recorded double-digit kills in all three of the Blue Raiders' matches

COLUMBIA, KY - For the second-straight week, sophomore outside hitter Yennifer Ramirez is the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday. September 29, 2014.The weekly honor is Ramirez's second of her career.



The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native produced double-digit kills in all three matches last week while helping Lindsey Wilson extend its winning streak to 13 straight.

Ramirez opened the week with a double-double - 16 kills and 13 digs - in a 3-0 win over Cumberlands (KY). Over the weekend, Ramirez recorded 10 kills in her two sets in a 3-0 win over Michigan-Dearborn.

She closed the week with 19 kills as the Blue Raiders won 3-1 at Northwestern Ohio.

Ramirez capped the week averaging five kills per set while posting a .333 attacking percentage. She also averaged nearly three digs per set while tallying five service aces during the week.

No. 12-ranked Lindsey Wilson improves to 17-2 on the season and leads the Mid-South with a 4-0 record.
