Edward T. (Ed) Lloyd, Metcalfe Co., KY (1952-2014)

He was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, where he attended Metcalfe County Elementary and High Schools. He spent much of his adult life in Indiana, where he gained great business and leadership success, including, most recently founding, in 1998 he started E.T. Lloyd and Company and E.T. Lloyd and Company Log Homes with his son Thomas Lloyd. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, NASCAR (Favorite driver: Tony Stewart), landscaping, making unique jewelry boxes out of rare wood, and going to flea markets with friends. He was a member of the Smiles Unlimited Christian Clown Ministry and Southern Indiana Woodworkers Club. He was a farmer and a fire fighter with Jonesville Fire Department until his healthforced him to retire. Ed and wife Linda were foster parents for Bartholomew County for 19 years, giving a good loving home to many, many children. Ed loved his family with a passion. His favorite pastime was sitting on the deck watching his children and grandchildren play on the huge playground/park he built for them. His wife of 44 years, Linda L. Lloyd, survives.

Edward T. "Ed" Lloyd, 62, of Columbus, IN, died at 10:59amET, on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Columbus Regional Hospital, in Columbus, IN.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1pmCT, Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY 42129, with Pastor Glenn Poynter officiating. Family and friends may call from 2pm-6pmET, Sunday, September 28, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington Street, Columbus, IN, and from 11amCT, until time of service Tuesday at Butler Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fields Cemetery in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY.



Edward T. "Ed" Lloyd, 62, Metcalfe Co. KY (1952-2014)

He was born on March 4, 1952 to Roy Lloyd and Dorothy Fields in Metcalfe County, Kentucky. He died Thursday, September 25, 2014, in Columbus, Bartholomew County, IN, at the age of 62 years, six months, and 21 days.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda L. Lloyd, and the following:
  • Children: Thomas (Andrea) Lloyd, Nicholas Lloyd, Brandon Lloyd, Christopher Lloyd, Anthony Lloyd all of Columbus, IN; Dustin Lloyd of Indianapolis, IN; Melissa Lloyd, Patricia Lloyd, Christina Lloyd, Kimberly Lloyd, Maelea Lloyd all of Columbus, IN; and Victoria (Ryan) Livingston of Phoenix, AZ

  • Grandchildren: Ava and Paxton Lloyd, Jayden Lloyd, Addyison and Lexie Shuler

  • Brothers: Donald Lloyd of Columbus, IN; Franklin Lloyd of Kentucky: Michael (Cassandra) Lloyd of Union City, IN; and Jerry (Connie) Lloyd of Union City, IN

  • Sisters: Linda Thomas of Tulsa, OK: and Carol Stapleton of Winchester

  • Mother" Dorothy Butt

  • And several nieces and nephews.

  • He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Lloyd; and brother, Rondal Lloyd
He attended Metcalfe County Elementary and High School.

He married Linda Fields in Celina, TN on May 9, 1970.

He worked for many years for Wilson-Oldsmobile and Cadillac, then for Sweeney Cadillac and from 1984-1998 he worked for Irwin-Management, helping develop Tipton Lakes Community.

In 1998 he started E.T. Lloyd and Company and E.T. Lloyd and Company Log Homes with his son Thomas Lloyd.

His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, NASCAR (Favorite driver: Tony Stewart), landscaping, making unique jewelry boxes out of rare wood, and going to flea markets with friends. He made many trips to Eastern Kentucky to deliver food, clothes and at Christmas time many toys for needy families. He attended Lowell General Baptist Church.
