Everything back to normal at the Adair County School Campus Rumor of gun on campus. It was just a rumor. Call from Alan W. Reed Superintendent, Adair County, KY schools The Adair County School District Campus went on a temporary "soft" lockdown earlier today, but it was only a precautionary measure. There was a person on campus who was not supposed to be here, and a soft lockdown was ordered. Rumors circulated that the person was carrying a weapon, but an investigation proved that to be in error - it was just a rumor. The soft lockdown is no longer in effect. Again, it was just a precautionary measure. Parents should know that their children are safe. - ALAN W. REED, Superintendent, Adair County School District, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.
