Neighbor dispute leads to search warrant and arrest Charges allege terroristic threatening 3rd and wanton endangerment. The case continues under investigation by Adair County Deputy Sheriff Jared Conover. By Deputy Adam Cravens News from the Adair County Sheriff's office The Adair Sheriff's Office along with Columbia Police Department and Kentucky State Police responded to the Portland community early Saturday morning on September 20, 2014. The report had been given out as a shots fired call on Garnett Baker Road off of Old Portland Road. Upon arrival Officers spoke with caller and her boyfriend who advised a neighbor had made a threatening phone call. While the caller was on the phone with Adair County Dispatch they heard shots fired outside of their home. Officers then went to Old Portland Road and spoke with Tony Beard, the neighbor in question. After questioning Beard, a search warrant was obtained for Beard's residence. Upon completion of search, various firearms were seized and Beard was taken into custody. Beard, 45. was arrested on charges of terroristic threatening 3rd degree and wanton endangerment 1st degree. Deputy Jared Conover is investigating the case. Conover was assisted by Deputy Brandon Hitch Officer Drew Conn and Trooper Daniel Stephens. - Deputy Adam Cravens Charges by officers are charges based on the arresting officer's judgment and belief. An indictment may or may not ensue. An individual charged in an indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later judicial proceeding.
