Willodean Shepherd, 85, of Louisville, formerly of Russell Springs, died Monday, August 18, 2014 at Baptist Health in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 9amCT/10amET, at Arch L. Heady-Cralle, 2428 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY, with visitation on Friday from 3pm-7pm/4pm-8pmET. Graveside service at 12:30pmCT, Saturday at the Tarter Cemetery in Adair County.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Dresden Conway Shepherd, two children; Cynthia Taxes and special son, Butch Taxes; grandson, Donovan, great-grandson, William along with two brothers and four sister.

She was a member of Clifton Heights Christian Church, loved working puzzles, collecting shoes and hanging with the beauty shop girls.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Patricia (Rick) Cross

  • One son: Sam Shepherd

  • Two sisters: Velma Flatt and Orpha Foley

  • Five grandchildren: Michelle (Jim) Clothier, Brent (Amy) Kenworthy, Sheldon Taxes, Jeremy (Misty) Cross, and Kelly (Mark) Bowie

  • Fifteen great-grandchildren

  • Two very special friends: Peggy and Sharon
Memorial gifts to Clifton Heights Christian Church Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, is assisting with local arrangements
