4 LWC Men's Basketball players on NABC 2013-14 Honors Court Simon Barres, Alex Giergen, Tony Horne and George Pramagkioulis earned the distinction By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY - Four members of the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2013-14 Honors Court which recognizes student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season. Simon Barres, Alex Giergen, Tony Horne and George Pramagkioulis all earned the award for the 2013-14 season. Barres, Giergen and Pramagkioulis were seniors in 2013-14 and majored in business while Horne was a junior majoring in physical education. Barres earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons while Giergen earned Scholar-Athlete honors in 2013-14. Barres and Giergen, along with Horne, earned Academic All Mid-South Conference honors in 2012-13 and 2013-14. Close to 900 student-athletes from more than 335 colleges and universities earned the NABC Honors Court distinction. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria including academically achieved junior or senior status, cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year, matriculated at least one year at their current institution and be a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
