Arrest follows disabling of semi truck with Ruger rifle fire

Incident occurs on Independence Ridge, in the south side of Adair County. Gunfire follows altercation, according to Adair County Sheriff's Department. Vehicle disabled while driver, from Antelope, California, was leaving Independence Ridge residence with female passenger. Deputy Aaron Rainwater was assisted by Columbia PD Officer Johnny Dial. David Tishar, 47, of Columbia, KY held on $250,000 cash bond.

On June 2, 2014, at 0258 hrs Adair County Sheriff's Deputy Aaron Rainwater was dispatched to 2988 Independence Ridge Road, Columbia KY on a shots fired call.

Upon arrival it was reported that David Tishar age 47 of Columbia, KY, and Steven Helmick age 46 of Antelope, California had a verbal altercation.



Helmick reported that he was attempting to leave the residence operating a Semi Truck when Tishar fired two rounds from a Ruger 300 magnum rifle into the front of the semi disabeling the vehicle while Helmick and a passenger Monica Saulter were in it.

Tishar was arrested on scene and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.Tishar is currently being held at the Adair Regional Jail on a $250,000 cash bond. Deputy Rainwater was assisted on scene by Officer Johnny Dial of Columbia Police Department.
