Mr. George Lee Porter, 56, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at his home.

There will be a memorial service for Mr. George Lee Porter held at 10amCT, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. Father Jim Reinhart officiating. Cremation was chosen by the family, and there is no visitation.



George Lee Porter, Green Co., KY (1958-2014)

He was the son of the late James Porter and Mary Barbar Porter. He was born on Tuesday, March 25, 1958 in Marion County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at his home in Greensburg, Green County, KY. He was 56 years and 2 months of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Catholic Faith.

He was a farmer and worked for Cox Interior, Inc.

Survived by his wife, Cynthia Elizabeth Jones Porter of Greensburg, having united in marriage on October 4, 2009.

Other survivors include:
  • His children: Shakel Porter of Louisville, KY; and Bryce Lane Porter of Greensburg, KY

  • Step-children: Jonathan Thompson, Shawn Thompson both of Louisville, KY; April Shofner of Campbellsville, KY; and Cory Logsdon of Greensburg, KY

  • His father-in-law and step-mother-in-law: Doyce Jones and Lablonde Jones of Greensburg, KY

  • Three brothers and six sisters: Alan Porter of Bardstown, KY; James Porter of Lebanon, KY; Frank Porter of Louisville, KY; Patricia Williams of Campbellsville, KY; Wanda Taylor and Melissa Porter Osei both of Tennessee; Stella Louise Porter, and Joyce Flowers both of Lebanon, KY; and Mary Elizabeth Porter of Louisville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
