Galvis and Gaprindashvili Earn All-District Honors for LWC Tennis Lindsey Wilson's Galvis and Gaprindashvili named to Capital One Academic All-District 2 Women’s At-Large Team. They helped the women’s tennis team reach the NAIA National Championship Semifinals Alejandra Galvis and Anna Gaprindashvili have been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 2 At-Large Team, College Sports Information Directors of America officials announced today. Galvis and Gaprindashvili are two of 11 student-athletes to be selected to the all-district team at the college division level, which includes the NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions. District 2 consists of those student-athletes from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana and Tennessee. Galvis concluded her 2014 season with an 8-5 singles record and 14-4 doubles record. The sophomore form Cucuta, Colombia, earned NAIA First Team All-America honors this season. She also was named to the All Mid-South Conference First Team and received academic all-conference honors. Galvis is a business administration major with a 3.36 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Gaprindashvili completed her season with a 12-4 singles record and 12-5 doubles record. The junior from Georgia, Russia, earned NAIA Second Team All-America honors and received All-MSC honors for the third time in her career. She also earned Academic All-MSC honors for the second time this season. Gaprindashvili is a business administration major with a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program’s inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
