Bowden helped Blue Raiders advance to the NAIA World Series Lindsey Wilson's Travatia Bowden named to Capital One Academic All-America College Division Softball First Team Travatia Bowden has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-America College Division Softball First Team, College Sports Information Directors of America officials announced today. Bowden is one of 11 student-athletes to be named a First Team All-America selection at the College Division which includes NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions. After being selected to the All-District 2 softball team, Bowden was placed on the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot where she was selected from a pool of four districts of student-athletes across the country to be on the first team. She has helped the Lindsey Wilson softball program claim the Mid-South Conference regular-season title and advance to the NAIA World Series this year. Bowden has started all 57 games this season and holds a batting average of .388. On the year, the junior has 64 hits, 48 runs scored, 15 doubles, 12 home runs and 44 RBIs. The McKenzie, Tenn., native is a criminal justice major with a 3.84 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Bowden was named a First Team All Mid-South Conference selection this season and received Academic All-MSC honors for the second time. She will receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors later this season.
