Indians defeat Hart County 56-46 Adair County led by Melton with 19 points, with Fudge adding 13, Hutchison 9, Bennett 9, Pooler 4, and Shelley 2. Special to ColumbiaMagazine.com After a cold shooting first half that saw the Indians shoot 27% from the field, Adair warmed up and shot 56% in the second half turning a 2 point halftime deficit into a 56-46 victory. The Indians were also hot from the charity stripe connecting on 14 out of 15 from the line in the second half. The win improved the Indians to 16-12 while the Raiders fell to 8-17. Hart County took a 14-11 advantage after one period and led 21-19 at halftime. Junior shooting guard Zach Hutchison scored 7 third period points and freshman forward Chance Melton scored 6 points as the Indians went on a 20-13 run. The run was capped off by a Ty Bennett 3 pointer just before the buzzer to give Adair a 39-34 advantage. In the final period senior point guard Matt Fudge scored 8 points including 6 for 6 from the free throw line as the Tribe pulled away 56-46. Adair was led by Melton's 19 points. Rounding out the scoring were Fudge 13, Hutchison 9, Bennett 9, Jacob Pooler 4, and Marshall Shelley 2 points. Pooler pulled down 8 rebounds and Melton came with 7 rebounds.
