Adair County Indians defeat Caverna 65-51

The Adair County Indians improved to 9-6 on the season with a 65-51 victory over Caverna (6-9) last night. The Indians led 16-8 after the first period and outscored the Caverna 22-12 in the second period to go up 38-20 at halftime.



The Tribe increased their lead to 58-33 after the third period. Caverna went on a 18-7 run in the final stanza to make the final 65-51. Matt Fudge led the Indians with 22 points while junior guard Zach Hutchison tossed in 15. Rounding out the scoring were Chance Melton 10, Ty Bennett 9, Jacob Pooler 4, Jake Hixson 2, Noah Polston 2, and Marshall Shelley 1. Melton pulled down 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Bennett and Hixson came away with 5 rebounds.
