By Barbara Armitage

If you happened to be out around Bull Run Road this morning you could have followed your nose up to Tucker's Station. The delicious aroma wafting from our porch was intoxicating. Or at least as intoxicating as we're allowed to get in Adair County.

Today was the beta test for our new-fangled turkey fryer. I've never had the nerve to try frying a turkey the old fashioned way what with the distinct possibly of burning down the house and all.

This new method is much safer and fast too. Just 38 minutes to cook this 11-pound turkey to golden brown perfection. The way our family loves to eat I doubt it will last another 38 minutes on the dinning room table! I can't wait to try some different turkey recipes. If you have a tried and true injection recipe please let me know.

There's just too much good food to eat to limit ourselves to just one day so up here on the hill we're going to celebrate Thanksgiving multiple times. We're even planning on breaking out several bottles of our homemade wine so the turkey won't be the only thing that's intoxicating! - Barbara Armitage
