Casey County Injury Collision at US 127 & KY 906

LIBERTY, KY - Tpr. Mike Woodrum is investigating a collision that occurred today, Saturday, September 28, 2013,f at 1:30pmET, 9 miles north of Liberty at the junction of US 127 and KY 906. 19-year-old Paul Murray of Harrodsburg was traveling north on US 127, operating a 1995 Chevy 4-door. He attempted to pass a vehicle in a no passing zone and struck a 2003 Dodge that was making a left turn onto KY 906. The Dodge was operated by 58-year-old Ernest Dale Gilbert of Greenfield, IN.



Greenfield was belted and was flown to Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, KY Two other passengers in the Gilbert vehicle Jerri Gilbert of Greenville, IN and James Burchett of Liberty were belted. Jerri Gilbert was transported to Ephraim McDowell while Burchett was not injured. Ages for Jerri Gilbert and James Burchett were not available.

Passengers in the Murray vehicle, 19-year-old Michael Hunter of Harrodsburg was belted and transported to Ephraim McDowell Hospital while 16-year-old Dustin Horton of Harrodsburg was not injured and belted. Tpr. Woodrum was assisted at the scene by the Casey County Fire, Rescue and EMS. - TFC BILLY GREGORY
