Robert S. Clark, Taylor Co., KY connection to Tennessee Robert Stone remembers him as intellectual preacher at Shop Spring Baptist Church, Tennessee, where Mr. Stone was pianist during part of Dr. Clark's ministry there. I didn't make the connection back in April but Dr. Clark was pastor of Shop Spring Baptist Church back about 1960. I think I was playing piano for services during part of his time there. Shop Spring is a little place between Lebanon and Watertown, Tennessee, where I lived from 1946 until 1952. Shop Spring Elementary was a well-known school right across the road from the church. Its long-time principal, Mary Smith, was known for teaching English grammar. The school closed many years ago. We had a reunion at the church today and I saw Dr. Clark's photograph on the wall. He was considered a very intellectual preacher, quite a contrast to the previous pastor, Claude McAdams, who was known for his folksy appeal. - Robert StoneComment about>Dr. Robert S.
