Agrees with life lesson in My Big Bicycle Wreck

Kathryn Miller writes:
I completely agree. Too many parents act like we should wrap our kids up in bubble wrap and never let them have any fun just because they might get hurt. We learn better when we get hurt doing something because we learn how to get better at what we are doing - literally and medaphorically - and how to get back up and shake it off.

Society has even taken kids sports and changed them into a boring game just because someone might get hurt.

My little girl plays and runs and gets dirty and yes gets hurt sometimes while doing it. But you know what, she has learned to get up and go on like a normal kid should.

My personal opinion is also that people in general have turned their kids into whimps who don't know how to deal with life when it hands the a raw deal. - Kathryn Miller
