C-ville driver dies after being hit by rock through windshield

Police discover that a rock had passed through windshield of pick-up, striking the driver in the facial area. Victim airlifted to Louisville, where he succumbed to the injuries a short time after arrival

The Campbellsville Police Department on Wedneday, July 24, 2013 at 3:40pmET, responded to a accident with injuries on KY 55. Upon arrival of officers, they made contact with a Paul Dameron, who was in his vehicle, a red Chevrolet pickup.



Dameron was headed South on KY 55 when witnesses observed the vehicle slow and drift into other lane of traffic and travel up an embankment where it came to rest.

It was discovered that rock had passed thru the windshield of the vehicle striking Dameron in the facial area. A road side mowing crew was working in the area.

Dameron was air lifted from the scene by AirEvac and transported to UofL Hospital, Louisville, KY. Mr. Dameron succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Agencies Involved: Campbellsville Police Department, Campbellsville Fire Department, Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS, AirEvac. Ofc. Jonathan Leigh of the Campbellsville Police Department is investigating. The investigation continues on the accident, additional information will be released at a later time. - Anne Sanders.
