Jon Halsey: Thanks Supt. Reed for clarifying tobacco-free policy

Applauds the decision of the board

jon halsey

Thanks to Superintendent Reed for clarifying his earlier post.

It appears that the actual policy which applies to everyone does NOT in fact: "...prohibit... having tobacco products on campus or at school functions."

I'm sure there are several mothers attending Parent/Teacher conferences who will be very relieved that the pack of Virginia Slims in their purse will not be a cause of alarms, panic and pandemonium.

On a more serious note, I again applaud the decision. Even back in the day, I was totally turned off by the unsightly sight of butts littering the walkways and entrances of public facilities. Stadiums and Arenas were some of the worst. And I am in total agreement that setting an example to the next generation is of the utmost importance.
