Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - On Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at approximately 9:30 a.m. ET Post 4 Dispatchers fielded a call from a mowing company stating that they had discovered a body alongside Interstate 65 near the 99 mile marker on the northbound side.

KSP Investigators can confirm that the body is that of a female, but no further details are known at this time. The State Highway Department has assisted by closing the right lane of the Interstate from the 98 to just passed the 99.5 MMs so that our Detectives can process the scene.

The lane is expected to be closed for several hours. The Hardin County Coroner is also on the scene and once the on-scene investigation is completed the body will be sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville for examination. The investigation is ongoing. - MTPR Norman Chaffins
