Adair County forage meeting Feb, 26, 2013 Speaker Dr. JD Green will join meeting remotely though a new system currently under evaluation by the Cooperative Extension Service which allows multiple counties to conduct educational programs at one time By Nick Roy, Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources The Adair County Cooperative Extension Service will be holding a forage meeting on Tuesday, February 26m at 6pmCT at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY. Topics will include weed control in hayfields/pasture and production of summer annual forages. Refreshments will be served. UK Extension Weed Scientist, Dr. JD Green, will be discussing identification of common broadleaf weeds, and chemical control options of these weeds in grass pastures & hayfields. Dr. Green will be joining us remotely though a new system currently under evaluation by the Cooperative Extension Service which allows multiple counties to conduct educational programs at one time. Results from a summer annual forage study conducted in 2012 will be presented. Agriculture Agents from Casey, Lincoln and Adair Counties collaborated to evaluate different summer annuals and mixtures of summer annuals to determine which option will provide the best yield and quality.
