Washington Co., KY injury collision leads to arrest

Westbound driver rear-ends west vehicle on Bluegrass Parkway

SPRINGFIELD, KY - Sgt. Fred Cornett is investigating a collsion that occurrred on Friday, January 25, 2013 at approximately 11:45pmET 15, miles north of Springfield on the Bluegrass Parkway. 22-year-old Adrian Bennett of Lexington, KY was traveling west on the Bluegrass Parkway in his 2007 Dodge when he rear ended a westbound 1999 Ford Escort. The Escort was operated by 42-year-old Melissa Kenney of Elizabethtown, KY who was wearing a seatbelt but was transported to Springview Hospital.

Bennett was belted and not injured but was arrested for Driving Under the Influence 1st Offense, Operating on a Suspended License, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, No Insurance, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. He was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center, Lebanon, KY. - TFC BILLY GREGORY
