Bonner Scholars provide 72 warm coats for Adair Headstart

For a Day like today, with night time temperatures in the high teens

By Brooke Harmon

The Lindsey Wilson College Bonner Scholar Program is a community service based program focusing on the needs of the community here in Adair County. Several members of the Bonner Scholar Organization collected monetary donations from local businesses, individual donations, as well as several children's coats, for the Bonner "Coats For Kids" project. With the donations, the Scholars were able to provide a total of 72 new winter coats for the students at Adair County Head Start.

The Scholars would like to thank everyone who donated and made this project possible and a great success. Among those taking part in the presentation of the coats were: Brooke Harmon, a sophomore Bonner Scholar at Lindsey Wilson, majoring in Elementary Education, Shannon Strode (Teachers Assistant), Gina Harmon (Head Start Family Support Specialists-Center Coordinator), Cherise Mingus (Bonner Scholar Program Coordinator) and Weston Pope (Graduate Assistant for Bonner Scholar Program and Career Services at LWC). - Brooke Harmon
