BY Ellen Zornes

WOW! The fifth annual Ronald McDonald House (RMH) Wish List Donation Drive was wonderful. Once again, our community has certainly come through. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Whether cleaning products, wash cloths, towels, bleach, laundry detergent, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, lotions, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, batteries, office supplies, food items, pop tabs or even money ($440), the Ronald McDonald Houses of Kentucky Wish Lists were filled.

A huge Thank You to everyone, young and old, who helped sort the donations, load the trucks and divide the items, equally, between the Ronald McDonald Houses of Lexington and Louisville KY, to the Chamber of Commerce and A.C.T.I.O.N. Generation for sponsoring the Wish List Drive.

Thanks as well to our media outlets: Adair Progress, Columbia Magazine, Community Voice, WAIN and WHVE for publicizing the event. And to Ramie Hutchison, Duo County Telecom, for putting together another poignant video showcasing just how fortunate we are to live in such a caring community.

So on behalf of the Wish List Committee, Pam Hancock, Norma Scott, Donna Stotts, Brenda Mann, Gale Cowan and Ellen Zornes, we thank you for such a wonderful response to the Ronald McDonald Houses of Kentucky. Our wish is that you never have to use them! - Ellen Zornes

Nathan Ballou, son of Ben and Elizabeth Ballou, saved the pop tabs from his soft drinks all year so he could bring them to donate to the RMH Donation Drive. Nathan is indicative of many of our youth who so diligently save their pop tabs to donate to such a worthy cause. He came to the RMH Wish List Drop Off with his Grandfather, Mr. Richard Phelps. - by Ellen Zornes, for A.C.T.I.O.N Generation
