The Tigers (33-4) claimed their first set of the match in the third set with a 25-23 win to climb within 2-1. Leading 19-18 late in the set, Georgetown scored five of the next six points to take a 23-19 lead.

The Blue Raiders fought off three set points to get the match to 24-23 before Caraline Maher closed out the set with a kill and the win. Maher ended with 15 kills.

In the decisive set, the Blue Raiders jumped out to a 9-3 lead thanks to the hot hand of MSC Freshman of the Year Courtney Doyle and Sarah Anderson. The pair combined for three kills and a service ace during the opening-set run. Hayne finished with a team-high 16 kills while Doyle added 10.

Georgetown scored eight straight points thanks to the combination of Maher and MSC Player of the Year Rachel Eubanks to take a 23-22 lead. Eubanks ended with a match-high 20 kills.

A Doyle kill and a Eubanks error gave the Blue Raiders their first of three championship points leading 24-23. Eubanks tied the match at 24-24 and again at 25-25 with kills to prolong the match.

Following a Lindsey Wilson error, Georgetown served for the set at 26-25 only to commit its 22nd hitting error of the match.

Doyle did the rest.
