Shadows May Reveal...

Have you ever walked along a quiet path in the fall of the year, sun setting in the distance, and heard an eerie, not-quite-earthly sound? Did you wonder if you weren't alone? Who among us knows if there isn't a specter--or guardian, following along in the twilight?

That glimpse of a figure in the corner of your eye--could it be someone, or something matching your gait; or a wisp of the long departed, the restless from a bygone era?

Does your heart beat quicken, your adrenaline surge? If so, come take a stroll through the Columbia Cemetery Monday evening. You might just run upon Judge Herschel Clay Baker, Stanley Downey, Laura Feese, Caleb Ricketts, Fannie Smythe, N.M. And Mary Tutt or Anna Wethington. - Mike Watson
