LWC Women's swimming team defeats CU and St. Catharine

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College women's swimming team edged Campbellville (Campbellsville, KY) 62-46 and routed St. Catharine (St. Catherine, KY) 95-3 in tri-meet action on Saturday afternoon, October 27, 2012, at the Holloway Health & Wellness Center, 299 Williams Street, Columbia, KY.



A closely-contested relay got the meet off to a wild start as Lindsey Wilson won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of two minutes and 1.58 seconds to 2:01.70. Racing for the Blue Raiders were Stephanie Davis, Kate Spaulding, Susan Herrington and Paige Lewis.

Spaulding was the next winner for the home team, taking the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:13.59, while Kelsey Marshall also won in the 200-breast, touching in 2:40.39. Marshall's time was a new national-standard "B" cut for the Blue Raiders.

Sarah Wood cruised to a win in the 500-free, winning by nearly 30 seconds with a showing of 5:51.33.

Campbellsville did post a dominant win against St. Catharine, 70-9.
