News from Lindsey Wilson College

COLUMBIA, KY - Research by two Lindsey Wilson College students and a professor was recently accepted by an academic encyclopedia. LWC students Lindy Mitchell of Earlington, KY, and Cameron Murrell of Columbia, KY, collaborated with LWC Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice Daniel W. Phillips III on an entry about folk crimes. Their work was accepted into the Encyclopedia of Social Deviance, which will be published in 2013. LWC is one of the few colleges in the country to have a class on rural crime, which includes folk crime, according to Phillips, a Russell Springs, KY, resident who is also chair of LWC's division of social sciences. - Duane Bonifer
