School attendance pays big dividends in academic success Click on headline for story with photo(s) by Brenda Mann, Asst. Superintendent News from the Adair County School District John Adair Intermediate and Adair Elementary students and staff recently celebrated being the top 2011-2012 attendance school winners for the Adair District; both achieved an attendance rate of 95.9%. The attendance plaques awarded to mark this important achievement are proudly displayed in the foyer of each school. Students at each of the winning schools pledged to improve attendance and are vying to claim the winning attendance rate for the current 2012-2013 school year. The Adair County School District also achieved a long-term attendance goal in 2011-2012 by achieving a 95.03% district-wide attendance rate. Good school attendance pays big dividends in student academic success. Research reflects that a child\'s attendance record is one of the strongest single predictors of their academic success. Students who have punctual and regular attendance are more successful in school, in the workplace and in life's endeavors. Congratulations to students, parents and staff of John Adair Intermediate and Adair Elementary for having top attendance rates for the past school year. --Brenda Mann This story was posted on 2012-09-15 16:14:52
