Judge Melton asks for prayers of community

To the People of Adair County:

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly ask for prayers tonight for our community. Tomorrow will be a monumental day in the history of Columbia and Adair County. Difficult decisions will be made by both the Hospital Board and the Fiscal Court that will affect our community for many years to come.

I don't recall, in my lifetime, an issue of more importance than the decisions we face tomorrow. Healthcare for a community is a basic need and if we ever expect to grow and prosper in this community, We must save our hospital.

Our hospital has saved many lives in Adair County and it does not matter Whose life may be next, your family or mine. Saving lives is and should be our first priority.

Then the economical impact of losing our Hospital and the many jobs that it provides will effect every aspect and every business in our community. We must pray for the Lord to give each of us the wisdom to make the best possible decisions and we must pray for the employees that will be effected by those decisions.

Thank You,
Ann Melton, Adair County Judge Executive
