Joyce Coomer sends refinements of August Fog Predictions Joyce M. Coomer writes: My father used the fogs in August as a predictor for snows in winter. He kept track not only of how many fogs, but how heavy they were, and what time of morning they burned off (I assume that meant how long a snowfall would last.). The first third of August corresponded to the first month of winter, the second third to the second month of winter, and the last third to the third month of winter. Seldom was there much variation in the fog to snow ratio. --Joyce M CoomerComments re article 53879 Larry Smith Fog never fail predicting future This story was posted on 2012-08-20 09:46:16
