Fire hydrants: There's already trouble in River City - Dog envy

General idea, however, is endorsed - with a new twist on fundraising! And more revelations of guilty parties

By Mary Knight

I couldn't agree more with Lila. What a way to liven up the town !!! The possibilities are endless - a fire-hydrant scavenger hunt!! Tour buses from Canada, on the trail of specific hydrants, cleverly led to restaurants and historical sites in the area.

We could commission hydrants in honor of our specific pets, (for a fee, of course.) Jakey, the Black Lab, Bluebelle, the Australian sheep dog--what a way to give directions to different localities in town.

Vonnie and Darlene - do quit your day jobs!!

One problem--I showed the photo to our cats--Hurricane and Minnie. They have already contacted their Feline Equality Association, claiming cat discrimination.

I must mention the quilts painted on the wall at Sav-A-Lot. Guess who is responsible for brightening up the parking lot? Vonnie Kolbenschlag, And take a look at the parking lot behind the Columbia-Adair County Tourism Bureau--same guilty party.

Thanks, Vonnie and Darlene--your whimsy is much appreciated.
