By Chris Wells
News from Lindsey Wilson College

KANSAS CITY, MO - Lindsey Wilson College begins 2012 at No. 3 in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top-25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Tuesday, August 14, 2012.

The Blue Raiders - making their 137th consecutive appearance in the national poll - received 524 voting points from the panel of coaches that make up the national raters. The streak is the longest active streak in the NAIA according to the national office.

Lindsey Wilson is coming off an unbeaten regular season in 2011 and a national tournament quarterfinal appearance. The Blue Raiders finished 2011 with a 19-1-2 record.

The Blue Raiders once again will encounter a difficult schedule in 2012. Lindsey Wilson faces five of the top-10 teams in the preseason poll, including top-ranked Lee (TN) University, No. 2 Concordia (OR) University and No. 4 Embry-Riddle (FL) University.

Lindsey Wilson opens the season by hosting No. 10 Spring Arbor (MI) University at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

Defending national champion Lee sits atop the poll with 560 voting points and all 20 first-place votes. Concordia picked up 542 voting points while Embry-Riddle received 505 voting points.

The first regular-season poll is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
