Genealogical Society, library will offer free 3-day ancestry workshop The course will outline easy steps to learn more about family histories See also: ColumbiaMagazine.com REUNIONS By Lila Ford The Adair County Genealogical Society and the Adair County Public Library, will hold a free Genealogy Workshop in a three night session, starting at 6pmCT each night, with each session over at around 7:30pmCT, Monday, October 3, Tuesday, October 4; and Monday, October 10, 2011, at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg St, Columbia, KY 42728. The sessions are for everyone who has ever wanted to know more about their family. Door prizes will be given away nightly. Each night will be a different session. Topics covered will be Where to begin, What is in your local library and Clerks Office, How to organize your information, Ancestry and Heritage Quest (which your library now offers for free), Software and how to use it, Scanning Pictures and documents, DAR, SAR and other lineage organizations you can join, Hunting those female ancestors and more advanced genealogy.
