Kari Elizabeth Proffit receives F&FNB scholarship to LWC Cumberland Co. High graduate will study elementary education in Columbia, KY Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - A Cumberland County resident has received a scholarship to attend Lindsey Wilson College. Kari Elizabeth Proffitt of Burkesville has received LWC's First & Farmers National Bank Scholarship. The $1,250 scholarship is given to one first-time, full-time freshman from Cumberland County. Proffitt will be an elementary education freshman this fall at the liberal arts college. A 2011 graduate of Cumberland County High School, Proffitt received several honors and was a member of several organizations, including: the 2010 All-District softball team, Spanish club, Future Business Leaders of America and Future Farmers of America. Her career goal is to be an elementary teacher. She is the daughter of Pat and Amy Proffitt. "Lindsey Wilson College is blessed to be located in a region with caring businesses such as First & Farms National Bank," said Lindsey Wilson Fund Director Brady Button. "This region's future will be determined by how well we develop our young people, and First & Farmers is leading the way in ensuring that our region has a bright future."
