Christmas in Columbia is December 4-5, 2010

Parade will be Saturday evening, December 4, 2010

From Columbia-Adair Co. Chamber of Commerce

The 20th annual Christmas in Columbia celebration sponsored by the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for the weekend of December 4-5, 2010. The theme this year is "I'll Be Home for Christmas."

Chamber wants to identify Adair military families

The theme is especially appropriate this year because during the parade the Chamber wants to recognize the young men and women who have served our country in Iraq and Afghanistan and are now home to their families. We need your help in identifying those military personnel who have returned to Adair County from serving in the military within the past year. If you know of someone please notify the Chamber office so we can contact them about joining us for the parade.

Parade is Saturday, December 4, 2010

As in past years the highlight of the weekend will be the annual Christmas parade featuring the arrival of Santa Claus. The parade will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2010, beginning at 6pmCT

Parade will be highlight, again this year

In addition to Santa Claus arriving on a fire truck, the parade will feature marching bands, floats, decorated cars, classic cars, area fire and emergency vehicles, horses, local dignitaries, pageant winners, and lots of kids. This is always one of the biggest events in Columbia each year. This year will be no exception.

No charge to enter the parade
Church groups, community organizations, and clubs are encouraged to enter floats in the parade. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded in three categories - the best floats, the best out of county floats, and the best non-floats. There is no charge to enter a float or to register to have a spot in the parade line-up.

Call or visit Chamber office to participate

Begin planning now to join the fun and help the Chamber make this the best parade yet. To register to enter a float, or for more information about participating in the parade, call the Chamber at (270) 384-6020 or stop by the office at 201 Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY.
