Jeff Burton new KY Corrections Director of Local Facilities

Frankfort, Ky. (August 10, 2009) - Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Rodney Ballard today announced that Jeff Burton, has been promoted to Director of Local Facilities.

Burton is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He and his wife RuthAnn live in Pulaski County with their four children Marissa, Jon-Blake, Ross and Olivia.



Burton began his career as Probation and Parole Officer in 1990 in Somerset Kentucky. In 2001 he became a Jail Services Specialist for Local Facilities and later was promoted to Jail Consultant. In 2006 Burton was promoted to Assistant Director where he provided direction for the Division of Local Facilities, including budgetary, supervision, and program responsibilities.

"Burton is a true leader and will certainly be an asset to Local Facilities in his new capacity", said Deputy Commissioner Ballard.

"I've had the opportunity to work with Burton for the past several years and he is most certainly capable of handling this new role," said Commissioner LaDonna Thompson. "We're fortunate to have someone with his experience to bring into this very important position."
