Paul Laurence Dunbar HS band helps ACHS with check Click on headline for complete story plus 2 photos AdairBand.com By Doyle Lloyd, President of the Adair County Band Boosters I just wanted everyone to know that Jeff Hood contacted us about helping and as you all know he is a Columbia boy, born and raised. Those present at the presentation on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, 1600 Man O'War BVLD, were Doyle Lloyd, former ACHS Band Director Tim Allen, senior trumpetChris Lloyd, Columbia, KY, native Jeff Hood, director of PLD; Sharon Micheal, booster president for PLD; and Marcie Bosworth, field commander for PLD. The check was in the amount of $500 and PLD just went on this trip in 2007, so they know how expensive it is to go. Jeff also said that we could use the money any where we wanted because he knows that we have been working hard on the fund raising and neglecting our regular season money. I just thought this was a wonderful gesture on their part, because even though we are competitors on the field, we all are one big family off the field. This story was posted on 2009-08-02 19:03:41
