ADDRESS MARKER
From July 2009 Chamber Insights

By Sue Stivers, Executive Director, C-AC Chamber of Commerce
Chamber Building, 201 Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY

Have you purchased your address marker for you home or business? If not, remember to go by the Adair County Sheriff's office and purchase your address marker! Emergency services will find you much easier when you need them.

Wouldn't it be great to see every home and business in Columbia and Adair County have one of the reflective address markers?

Glens Fork area has large number of Address Markers

Last Sunday afternoon while taking a drive on Highway 55 South, I made a left hand turn at Glens Fork and traveled on Hwy. 768 to Hwy. 92. I was delighted to see the number of homes/businesses that had their address marker displayed where they could easily be seen. I got so excited to see the markers! Hopefully everyone in Adair County will follow the example of this community.

By purchasing a sign, you could save your life or the life of someone you love. In addition, YOU will be helping the Chamber of Commerce with projects that make our community a better place to live such as Christmas In Columbia and other events. Profit on each sign is $1.00.

Don't forget to purchase your sign!! They are available now at the Adair County Sheriff's Office, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY. Call ahead for faster service. Call Alice Stephens or Suzanne Rodgers at (270) 384-2776 to have your Address Marker made today. Please don't put it off.

Even famous Adair Co., KY landmarks have Address Markers

2009-07-27 - 201 Burkesville ST., Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Even Columbia's Best Know Landmarks are getting Address Markers. The Chamber Building at 201 Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY, is one of the most frequently visited venues in Adair County, but Chamber Director Sue Stivers makes sure the Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce is setting an example. "After all," she said, "it was former Chamber President Richard Phelps who started the program in Adair County." She added, "With a possible swine flu outbreak this fall, it is more important than ever that we give the best Emergency Medical Service in America all the tools they need to render aid when it's needed." County Judge Executive Ann Melton and the Adair Fiscal Court has also led in setting an example, by erecting the signs on the historic Adair County Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia,KY, and at the Courthouse Annex, 424 Public Square. The signs are available at the Adair County Sheriff's office, 424 Public Square (for now; it will be moved to the Courthouse Annex soon).
