Obituary: Geneva Milby Penick, 81, Greensburg, KY

Mrs. Penick was a member of a respected Green County family, a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church, and was a retired cook and homemaker

Mrs. Geneva Milby Penick of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Grady O. Milby and Effie Esther White Milby, was born on October 1, 1927 in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at her home. She was 81 years, eight months and 24 days of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Milby Penick will be conducted at 2:00pmCT., Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Carlisle-Milby Cemetery. Bro. Dan Hunt, Bro. Dennis Penick and Bro. Mark Graham will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 3 to 9:00pmCT, Saturday, June 27, 2009 and after 7:00amCT, Sunday, June 28, 2009, at at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, until time of the funeral service.



She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and was a retired cook and homemaker.

She united in marriage to Charlie P. Penick on December 22, 1943 who preceded her in death on March 10, 2004.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Phyllis Penick of Greensburg, KY; Doug and Jane Penick of Campbellsville, KY, Bro. Dennis and Brenda Penick, Greensburg KY, and Rex and Terri Penick of Maryland

  • Two daughters: Selena Marcum and Ramona Penick both of Green County. KY

  • Four brothers: Russell Milby, Kenneth Milby and his wife Inflice, Gordon Milby, and David Milby all of Green County, KY

  • A sister: Bonnie Strader of Greensburg, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Two step-grandchildren
  • and a host of great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends
Mrs. Penick was also preceded in death by a sister: Margaret Penick in October 1987.

PALLBEARERS: Kent Penick, Brian Penick, Robbie Penick, Bobby Marcum, Joe Penick, andAdam Marcum.
