Obituary: Lethia Marie Berry Milby, 72, Greensburg, KY

Mrs. Berry was a member of a large, respected Green Co, KY. family. She was a member of the Aetna Union Baptist Church and was a homemaker

Mrs. Lethia Marie Berry Milby of Summersville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Otha Berry and Bertha McCubbins Berry, was born on November 2, 1936 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She was 72 years, seven months and 21 days of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Lethia Marie Berry Milby will be conducted at 10:00amCT, Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery, Montgomery Mill Road, Summersville, Kentucky. Bro. Tom Downey, Bro. Finis Berry, Jimmy Berry and William Lee Berry will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 2:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home and after 7:00amCT, Friday, June 26, 2009, until time of the funeral service.



She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Aetna Union Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to William C. "Billy" Milby on December 22, 1951 who preceded her in death on October 18, 1983.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda Sue and Ronnie Estes, Wanda Carol and Bobby Patton, and Lisa Renea and Timothy Shirley all of Summersville, KY

  • Three sons and daughters-in-law: William C. Jr. and Patricia Milby, Ricky Joe and Kaye Milby and Mitchell Ray and Janet Milby all of Summersville, KY; a daughter-in-law: Starlene Milby of Summersville, KY

  • Four sisters and brothers-in-law: Martha and Monta Childress, Juanita and Boyce Dobson, Cindy and Leroy Shelton and Betty and Rev. Tom Downey all of Magnolia, KY

  • Three brothers and sisters-in-law: William and Susie Berry of Greensburg, KY; Rev. Finis and Barbara Berry and Jimmy and Rita Berry all of Summersville, KY

  • Asister-in-law: Maybelle Berry of Summersville, KY
  • Eighteen grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Milby was also preceded in death by a son: Ronnie Dean Milby, on November 9, 2001; and a brother, Otis Berry on February 11, 1995.
