AFTER SCHOOL YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, Shamarie Claiborne spotted a number of wild turkeys in a field on the south side of the Columbia Western Bypass between North KY 61 and South KY 61 and shot this photo of a six of the giant birds in flight. Impressive from this distance, a single bird can be downright frightening if it crosses the highway in front of a driver's windshield, which one will sometimes do.
