ABSENTEE VOTING MACHINE OPEN Absentee voting machine is open in the office of Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair. From now until Primary election day, Tuesday, May 20, 2008, the office will be open regular hours 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday, plus special hours 8:00am-12:00noonCT on Saturdays.
"REGISTRATION BOOKS ARE CLOSED starting April 22, through May 27, 2008. (fourth Tuesday preceding through first Monday following primary)(This time period may vary depending on whether the last day to register to vote falls on a state or federal holiday. Secretary of Economic Development and Richard L. Walker, the Adair County Contact Man for the Beshear Administration and former Adair County Judge Executive shook hands. Judge Walker told Secretary Hindman that he is for anything which is good for Adair County. Walker has said that his main aim during the Beshear administration is to locate some employers in the commerce park. On the right is Fran Carrico, Community Development Specialist for this Area of Kentucky.

Secretary John Hindman guest of honor in Columbia today

Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet Secretary John Hindman is the guest of honor in Columbia today. The secretary is completing a two day tour of Adair County and meetings with county leaders. He will speak to a meeting of community leaders this morning at a breakfast at the Chamber building, 201 Burkesville Street.

Area Economic Development Leader Fran Carrico and Mayor Patrick R. Bell at this morning's Chamber breakfast at which Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet Secretary John Hindman spoke. Ms. Carrico is from Springfield, KY, and noted the new ties between the Washington County seat and Campbellsville and Columbia, all close together on KY 55 and the proposed Heartland Parkway. At left, side to camera, is Columbia-Adair County Economic Development Executive Director/Recruiter Sue Stivers. Nearly 50 were in attendance to hear Secretary Hindman's address.
