Adair County was tops in many categories at State Only school to take First Place in all categories; top score of all bands in finals. Three alumni have big victories. Many links in story. Adair County Marching Band's brilliant performance not only won the championship of Class AAA, it was also the only band to win in all categories and the band's score, 96.11 was the top score of any band competing in the finals. Adair Countians also could take pride in alumni director performances from Debbie and Eric Hale and Jeff Hood. For scoring in the KMEA SMBC Finals, at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, KY, October 20, 2007, Click Here Adair County was Number 1 in all categories, and had the top score of all bands at the event, with 96.11. In the finals, Adair County was the only school to take First Place in all categories by all judges. Music (40%), Music effect (20%) Visual (20%), and Visual Effect (20%). The number two spot in Class AAA in the finals, was won by Bourbon County, under the direction of Adair Countian Eric Hale. Nicholas County High School, Carlisle, KY, under the direction of Adair Countian Debbie Hale, was third in Class A. Neighboring Cumberland County, Burkesville, was fourth in Class A. For scoring in the KMEA Class AAA Semi-Finals at Eastern High School in Louisville, KY, Click Here A very satisfying victory came when Adair County Alumnus Jeff Hood's Lexington Paul Laurence Dunbar High School took first place in Class AAAAA, with Lexington Lafayette coming in second.
