Obituary: Bonnie Laura Burton, 84, member Hovious Mission

Mrs. Burton was a member of a large, respected Adair County family. She was the widow of James Walker Burton and had retired after a career at Fruit of the Loom

Bonnie Laura Burton, 84, 400 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY, died Monday, September 24, 2007, at the home of her granddaughter, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at 11:00amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Gary Tucker and Bro. Boyce Houk officiating.



She was a daughter of the late Leslie Ewing and Serena Goodin Tucker, the widow of James Walker Burton, a member of Hovious Mission and was retired from Fruit of the Loom.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Burton.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Freddy Burton, Columbia, KY; and J.W. Burton, LIvingston, TN

  • One daughter: Priscilla Osborne, Madison, OH

  • Four brothers: Oconell and L.J. Tucker, both of Knifley, KY; Don Tucker, Lexington, KY; and Roscoe Tucker, Pellyton, KY

  • One sister: Geneva Fair, Greensburg, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Gidgett Warren, Nita Capello, James W. Burton, Jr.; Kecia Burress, Tracy Burton, and Kenneth Osbourne III

  • Seven great-grandchildren: Stephanie Marshall, Timothy James Wheeler; Dustan, Austin, and Jessica Burress, and Frederick and Troy Warren.
Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.Visitation will be after 3:00pmCT, Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.
