Marion (Short) Fudge still at Rowetown, 80 years Saturday

Saturday, September 15, 2007, will be the 80th birthday of a treasured Adair Countian, Marion (Short) Fudge.

He was born in 1927, the son of the late Finis A. and Sarah Barnes Fudge in a wonderful little corner of Adair County called Rowetown.

The little community is located off Toria Road, just south of Sparksville, north of Breeding, KY, in a beautiful area of heavily wooded hills dotted with pastures and a few row crops.

He still lives and works, when he wants to, on the farm at Rowetown. His wife, Arminda Hagan Fudge, died on June 4, 1997. where the couple's family grew up.

Their were seven children born to Marion and Arminda:

Nolan Fudge lives in Evansville IN:
Ronnie Fudge and his wife Linda live in Bloomfield, KY
Larry Fudge and his wife Gayle live at Rowetown
Garry Fudgeand his wife Ginger live in Glasgow, KY
Wilma Fudge McDonough and her husband John live inFaribault, MN
Kathy Fudge McClister and husband Larry live in Columbia, KY
and Jennifer Fudge Carter and her husband John live in nearby Sparksville, KY.

Grandchildren are: Chris Fudge, Melena Lacy, Tammy Fudge, Tommy Fudge, Sarah McDonough, Sally McDonough, John McDonough and Tyler Carter.

Great grandchildren are: Michael, Kirsten and Hailey Fudge, Katlyn and Jakeb Lacy.

Short has lost two brothers. Gilbert Fudge died in infancy and this past winter his older brother, Henry Fudge, passed away.

He has another distinction: There's a county road named for him. It's one of four in he Adair County system carrying the respected family name, and, his road, Marion Fudge Road, is one of only two named for an individual.

He is very active in the Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department and will be at nearly all its functions, as well Breeding Community gatherings and reunions.

From his family: Happy 80th Birthday! With Love from Your Family.

Friends of Marion (Short) Fudge still have time to shower him with cards to: Marion (Short) Fudge,60 Marion Fudge Road, Columbia, KY42728.
