Fourth Graders at ACES become rocket scientists for day

With two photosAdair County Elementary School fourth graders recently had a chance to be rocket scientists, as they recently studied the scientific method in Mrs. Godsey's science class.

In all about 60 ACES students from Ms. Walker, Mrs. McCann, and Mrs. Godsey's own fourth grade home room classes participated in the rocket launching activity.

As a final event, they made bottle rockets out of soda bottles and shot them off in the school parking lot.

Special thanks goes to Michael Godsey, Mrs. Godsey's husband, for making the bottle rocket launcher, and to Steve Strodtman, Mrs. Godsey's dad, for coming to launch day and helping pump air into the bottles!
