Obituary: Lillian Staton, 78, member First Baptist Church

She was the beloved matriarch of a large Adair County family
Lillian Staton, 78, Allen ST, Columbia, KY, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at 5:02am CT, at the Hospice Care Center at the Norton Pavilion in Louisville.

The funeral service will be Saturday, August 5, 2006, at 1:00pm CT, at First Baptist Church, Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Leon Lasley, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.



She was a daughter of the late J.C. and Clora Clark Shirley of Metcalfe County, the widow of George Kenneth Station, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Columbia, KY.

Survors include the following:
  • Five daughters: Fern and husband Jimmy Hughes, Columbia, KY; Teresa Morgan, El Paso, TX; Paulette and husband Leon Lasley of Campbellsville, KY; Marlene and husband Stanley Johnson, Columbia, KY; and Becky and husband Dwight Taylor, Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: George and Cleo Shirley, both Glasgow, KY

  • Seven sisters: Zenna Sartin, Summer Shade, KY; Zella Burris, Odelia Anderson, and Myrtle Russell, all of Indianapolis, IN; Magnolia Hayes, Edmonton, KY; Mary Lou Love, Chicago, IL; and Marjorie Hoskins, South Holland, IL

  • And 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is at the funeral home after 6:00pm CT, Friday, August 4, 2006.

The funeral service will be at First Baptist Church, Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY on Saturday, August 5, 2006, at 1:00pm CT.

Visitation is at Grissom Funeral Home on Friday, August 4, 2006, after 6:00pm CT.
