Important dates for the May 21, 2024 Primary Election From Lisa Greer Adair County Clerk The registration deadline for the 2024 Primary election is April 22, 2024, at 4pm local time. You may register on-line at elect.ky.gov or come into the Adair County Clerk's Office during normal business hours, Monday-Friday between 8amCT and 4pmCT, or First and Third Saturdays between 8amCT and 11amCT. If you are not registered on or before this date, you are not eligible to request an absentee ballot or vote in person during the election. Absentee Mail-In Ballots The Online mail-in absentee request portal will open on Saturday, April 6, 2024 (45 days before the election), and will close on May 7, 2024. Once the portal opens, you may request an absentee ballot online at Govote.Ky.gov, or by contacting the Clerk's Office at 270-384-2801 during normal business hours. Note: You must meet eligibility requirements to vote absentee, and you must request an absentee ballot every election. The requirements are listed here: https://elect.ky.gov/Voters/Pages/Absentee-Voting-By-Mail.aspx. Returning Absentee Ballots Ballots may be returned by mail to the Adair County Clerk's Office, 424 Public Square, Ste 3, Columbia, KY, or in the Ballot Drop-off Box located inside of the Adair County Clerk's Office in the Adair County Courthouse Annex during the following times: Monday-Friday between 8amCT and 4pmCT, or First and Third Saturdays between 8amCT and 11amCT, or on Election Day between 6amCT and 6pmCT.
