Wind advisory issued for Monday evening

The National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, issued a Wind Advisory at 4:01amCT on Monday, March 25, 2024, for portions of central Kentucky includinding Adair County and most of the surrounding area. This Wind Advisory will be in effect from 7pmCT this evening until 5pmCT on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

Plan to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle, and to secure outdoor objects.

In addition, the wind combined with low relative humidity will result in an increased risk for fire spread. Afternoon relative humidities will be around 20 percent in east-central Kentucky, and winds from the south will be 10 to 20 mph. Occasional higher gusts are expected throughout the region. Use caution when burning as fires may get out of control quickly in these conditions.
